About Frum Jewish Books

girl-cartoonYou bought a book, saved it to read on Shabbos or a special evening.

When you finally settle everyone down so you can have a few moments to read, you curl up your feet in your arm chair, open the book and with a contented sigh, begin to read …

Only, a few pages in, you start to realize … it wasn’t what you expected.

You wanted an action-packed thriller and this is a family drama with a misleading cover. (As if you didn’t have enough family drama of your own in real life, right?)

Or you wanted a feel-good family novel and, instead, you find yourself turning the pages of a sci-fi mystery for teenagers.

Guess what – you’re not the only one disappointed. The author of that book wanted to get it to the right audience, too.

So here we are.

We started Frumjewishbooks.com to help you find the books you want to read; to make shidduchim between books, authors and readers.

Here’s the plan:

  • We’ll give you more than just the blurbs on the back covers of the latest frum Jewish books.
  • We’ll let you know what it’s like through synopses and reader feedback.
  • We’ll talk to authors, through Q&As and interviews, so you get a feel for what you’re getting – before you buy the book.
  • And when we find a novel that really knocks our socks off, you betcha we’ll tell you, so you don’t miss it!

My name is Myriam Miller and I’m the senior editor at Frumjewishbooks.com.

Under various pseudonyms, I’ve published over 1,000 articles, features and short stories in frum publications.

A few of you may know me as M. Bassara, author of the novel Sun Inside Rain and the young adult thriller Race Against Time.

By day, I’m an editor and copywriter.

During my lunch hour, I read.

At night, I write.

So, yeah, you could say I pretty much live, breathe and eat the printed word.

That’s why I’m so thrilled to be part of the start-up team here at Frumjewishbooks.com.

I hope that it will grow into a vehicle through which we, as readers, can share the frum Jewish books we love, get to know the authors behind them, and spread the stories that capture our imaginations, strengthen our emunah, challenge our preconceptions, and light up our souls.

Thanks for joining us!
